O'Henry Bars

It's not Christmas at the Greer house without O'Henry bars.  I think they taste a lot like a home-made Snickers bar.

1 c. sugar
1 c. corn syrup

1 c. peanut butter
1 c. salted peanuts
3 c. rice krispies

6 oz. pkg. chocolate chips
6 oz. pkg. butterscotch chips

Bring sugar and corn syrup to a boil, but no more than that.  Mix in peanut butter, nuts and krispies.  Press into a 9x13 greased pan.  Melt chocolate and butterscotch chips together in a double boiler.

(I choose to melt these chips in a glass pyrex in the microwave, but you have to be very careful or it will burn the chocolate.  Microwave for about 20 seconds and then stir well.  Repeat this until the chips are mostly melted.  Then just stir for a couple of minutes, and they'll all melt together smoothly.)

Spread on top of krispies mixture.  Cut into small squares when cooled.
