1 whole chicken
1 bay leaf
or
canned chicken
canned chicken broth
onions
celery
carrots
thyme
cooked rice
1. Cook whole chicken 1/2 to 1 hour with bay leaf. Reserve liquid. Debone and skin chicken.
2. To reserved liquid, add vegetables and spices. Add meat and rice and simmer until hot.
Or-- add meat to liquid and veggies with 3/4 cup uncooked rice and simmer until rice is tender.
